The former Arsenal striker says that Tottenham can show that they are capable of bouncing back from their defeat to Arsenal on the previous weekend by gaining all three points against the Premier League’s defending champions
Manchester United...
Adebayor has come out and said that Tottenham need to show that they want to win the English Premier League by winning against Manchester United in their next league encounter after they failed to impress against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429.
The Togolese striker fired his team to a two goal advantage at the Emirates stadium on Sunday against the Gunners but Tottenham capitulated later on in the match and gave up their two goal advantage. The away side conceded five
goals in the process and were subjected to a humiliating defeat in the North London derby.
Nonetheless, Adebayor is adamant that his team can prove their worth against the Red Devils at White Hart Lane on the next weekend. Manchester United themselves will want to win against Tottenham given that their primary aim is
to remain within touching distance of Manchester City before their tie against the Citizens at the end of April.
Adebayor said in his interview, "If you want to be champions these games against the likes of Manchester United are the kind of games we have to be winning. The Arsenal game has been a tough one, the defeat is very heavy, but
we have to carry on. We have to keep focused. We have to show character in front of our fans and manage to win that game."
He said, "After my penalty I thought game was over, but they showed good character, played some good football and came back so congratulations to Arsenal. Unfortunately we didn't manage to beat them but the season is long, we just
have to keep focused and keep going.”
Harry Redknapp will hope that his team do not assume that the match is over before the final whistle has blown against Manchester United; just like they did against Arsenal as such an attitude can be detrimental to their efforts
to finish in the top three of the Premier League.
