Mark Hughes lures Eidur Gudjohnsen
Fulham manager, Mark Hughes has revealed that he is very close to securing the signature of former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 striker, Eidur Gudjohnsen, on a permanent deal.
The 32-year-old Gudjohnsen is currently a Stoke City player who was loaned out to Fulham in January, 2011 but will be available for a Bosman Transfer in the summer when his contract with the potters runs out.
Gudjohnsen’s career seemed to be over when he exited the ranks of Barcelona, but Stoke City brought him in on a one-year contract last summer when they signed him from Monaco. The signature was intended to secure their survival in the Premier League but the Icelander failed to make his impact while at Stoke City, and was loaned out to Fulham at the turn of the year.
Gudjohnsen has made 8 appearances for the Cottagers since joining them in the January transfer window. He made his debut for the Londoners in the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa a couple of months back.
Fulham manager, Mark Hughes has been impressed with the guile and panache of the 32-year-old and is looking to make this loan deal permanent.
Hughes said, "I've been really pleased with what Eidur's brought to us and I know that he's enjoying his time here. Eidur would like to stay, I'm sure, and we would reciprocate that as well. We're hopeful it'll get done quite soon."
