Tottenham Hotspur striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 has been told by manager Andre Villas-Boas to be patient and wait for his chance to make his way back into the Spurs starting 11.
The Portuguese tactician has warned the Togolese striker that he will need to be more patient as he returns to the team from injury and wait for his chance to start for the team.
Adebayor joined the North London club on a permanent basis after last campaign’s season long loan from reigning English champions Manchester City. The striker scored 17 goals last season, and quickly became a local favourite after years of being ‘public
enemy number 1.’
The Togolese had previously been an http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 player, and had enjoyed prolific form against Tottenham. However, since he moved to White Hart Lane, the striker warmed up to the fans as he became their top scorer last term.
This season has seen different fortunes for the player. Adebayor has not started a single game for Tottenham, and then fell sick as he missed Wednesday’s Capital One Cup clash against Norwich City. Tottenham had gone on to lose the game 2-1, despite having
a number of first team players out on the pitch.
Adebayor is supposedly back in contention for the today’s game against Wigan Athletic, but Villas-Boas has hinted that the player will still need to wait for a start. Speaking to reporters, he said:
“Ade has returned to training and he will be available for the Wigan game. The trouble has been that he has not played so much this season, mainly because of injury. He missed six games for a period and then two more recently.”
“Whenever he came on he did well and he wants to be part of the team, but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 is doing well. In nine Premier League games, he has five goals. This is the kind of goal scoring ability you want for your team.”
“Ade has to be more patient at the moment. I’m sure he can have a good run.”
Villas-Boas is currently waiting on an update regarding the injured Moussa Dembele, who is out with a hip injury. The manager hopes that the Belgian does not have to undergo surgery and will return to the team as soon as possible.
