Adelaide Hart wins Women’s 100m back-stroke title: Australia State Teams Age Group SC Championships
Adelaide Hart of WA put up a scintillating show in front of the arena on day two of the 2011 Australia State Teams Age Group Short Course Championships in Canberra, Australia, on Sunday, September 18. The session of the competition held the Women’s 100m
and Men’s 200m back-stroke final events.
Initially, WA’s Adelaide Hart came out strongly in the Women’s 100m back-stroke final heat and snagged the gold medal on the podium by posting a winning time of 1 minute and 00.99 seconds. Hayley Baker of VIC secured silver medal on the podium by submitting
an impressive time of 1 minute and 01.76 seconds, while Rebecca Booth of NSW earned bronze medal in a time of 1 minute and 01.90 seconds.
Morgan Timms of QLD was placed fourth in a time of 1 minute and 01.92 seconds, while Leah Neale of QLD earned fifth spot in a time of 1 minute and 02.30 seconds. Zoe Williams settled sixth in a time of 1 minute and 02.34 seconds, whereas, Alici Caldwell
of NSW was placed seventh in a time of 1 minute and 02.73 seconds. NSW’s Je Limatainen earned eighth place honours in a time of 1 minute and 02.79 seconds.
On the other hand, the Men’s 200m back-stroke title was taken over by VIC‘s Nic Groenewald with a winning time of 2 minutes and 01.85 seconds. Edward Marks of NSW secured the silver medal with an impressive mark of 2 minutes and 07.65 seconds, while Mitchell
Adams of QLD settled for bronze in a time of 2 minutes and 07.80 seconds.
In the corresponding race, Douglas Oliver of QLD was placed fourth in a time of 2 minutes and 08.18 seconds, while Thomas Curran of TAS earned fifth position in a time of 2 minutes and 09.22 seconds. WA’s Nicholas Brown was placed sixth in a time of 2 minutes
and 09.38 seconds, whereas, VIC’s Sebasti Cumins finished seventh in a time of 2 minutes and 11.05 seconds. Sam Curtis of TAS was placed eighth in a time of 2 minutes and 11.83 seconds.
