hey,

I'm trying to decide between moving to Adelaide or Melbourne, If I move to Adelaide I've a job already lined up but have the issue of finding housing, Melbourne the other way around as I have family there but will need to find work....though that shouldn't be hard...

I'm having trouble deciding between the 2 but need to decide soon so any help provided in helping me deicde would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Mitch

  1. I would always move to where I had family.  Family is the most important thing and if you need help they will be there.  As you said yourself, you will eventually find a job there.  I live in Sydney, I have never been to Adelaide and i have visited Melbourne for a weekend and I didn't like it.  i just think it was like Sydney but not as good.  i think you are leaning towards melbourne by what you wrote.  You made it sound like that if you moved to Adelaide although you already had a definate job you could be homeless for a while.  With Melbourne you mentioned that you had a place to stay and you could get a job there and that your familty was there.  Melbourne sounds like a safe bet whereas adelaide is a bit of a gamble.  Always remember that people on their death bed always say they wished they spent more time with their family, not that they shoudl have spent more time working.

  2. adelaide will win, melbourne are shithouse this year

oh, you mean cities to live in. well, take the job in adelaide, live there for a while, visit your family in melbourne, and then, when you are totally bored with living in adelaide, do what many others have done before you, and pack up and move to melbourne. simple really

OMG! you like pizza. forget adelaide, move straight to melbourne

  3. adelaide is ****!! i hate it ive been there 3 times and im happy 2 say melbourne is wayyyyy better!!!

  4. Adelaide is the pits.. lol..j/k ..but really....  Melbourne...especially if you have some family.there...as  you said, you can get work..........

  5. Since finding a job is not a problem, then Melbourne it is! Its a beautiful place, more vibrant, and its always better to be around your family members. All the best!

  6. Really depends what you're looking for i guess. Renting in Adelaide would be cheaper, but if you're living with family in Melb, not really an issue. Personally, i like Adelaide a lot better, I'm always looking forward to going back after being in Melbourne for a while. Adelaide city centre is much easier to get around as it uses a grid system, Melbourne is a bit confusing at first. The main difference I've found is that Adelaide is a lot more relaxed and natural. If nightlife is important to you, mabye Melbourne is better, but there are a few good places in Adelaide too once you find them

  7. Go Melbourne, family is everything, and melbourne has lots of oppertunity, you will find a job easy. Good luck,

  8. Depends on your what you like. If you like the quiet life go for Adelaide as its character is that of a big country town. If you prefer the city lifestyle go with Melbourne, there's plenty of work here. Personally I'd go for Adelaide.

  9. dont move to adelaide, i live in adelaide and its a shithole. There is no nightlife compared to melbourne. I just hate living in adelaide. in melbourne everything is so much better, you are better off in melbourne then in adelaide
