Adelaide green-top wicket awaits http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 - Cricket News Update
A green wicket with plenty of bounce awaits India in the fourth and final Test match of the series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 at the Adelaide Oval next week. Being 3-0 down in the series, the wicket is unlikely to give any respite to the Indian batting line-up that
has faltered against the Australian pace attack. The fourth Test starts at the Adelaide Oval, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 on Tuesday, January 24, 2012.
The star studded India team will be looking to avoid a series whitewash in the last match. The curator at the Adelaide Oval, Damien Hough, told media reporters that the wicket they are preparing for the fourth Test would be similar to the one used for the
Ashes Test between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 and Australia with more grass and some extra bounce in it.
"There would be more grass and there would be more bounce. In many ways it would be similar to last time," said Damien Hough speaking to the media reporters ahead of the Adelaide Test.
Australia lost the last Test played here by an innings and 71 runs. The hosts will be eager avoid to defeat and will be hopeful of sealing a 4-0 series win.
Hough revealed that the wicket would assist fast bowling on the opening day, but the wicket will settle down as the game progresses and will help the batsmen on the second and third day. The last two days, according to the curator, would once again see the
bowlers, especially spinners, coming into the picture as the wicket would offer variable bounce on the final two days.
Australia has already won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with an invincible 3-0 lead but a inflicting a 4-0 whitewash on the formidable Indian line-up would be on their minds as they take the field against the tourists on Tuesday.
Answering a question on whether he has received instructions from the home team regarding the Adelaide wicket for the final Test, Hough said: "I haven't heard from anyone. I am not affected by the scoreline. My aim is to make as good a pitch as possible."
However, he did reveal that he had been approached by the visiting coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Duncan-Andrew-Gwynne-Fletcher-c54742.
