Aditya Joshi ousts Harsheel Dani in qualifying round of Syed Modi International India GPG 2012
India’s singles shuttler Aditya Joshi proved his mettle on court and secured his place in Men’s Singles main round after defeating his compatriot Harsheel Dani in qualifying round of Syed Modi International India GPG 2012 in India, on Tuesday, December 18.
The in-form Aditya, who remained in complete control of the game throughout the qualifying round, did not face any considerable problem from his team-mate and easily wrapped up victory in just 31 minutes.
Aditya worked hard in the opening set and took it narrowly, but he did not show any mercy to his challenger in the following set and ended up the contest in straight sets by a convincing margin.
In contrast, Harsheel played terrific badminton in the opening game and troubled his challenger all the way but failed to maintain his rhythm in the ending points and lost the set. He could not play well in the following game and lost the contest in straight
games.
Both shuttlers played impressive badminton from the starting rallies of opening game and remained close on the board at the opening stage.
However, Aditya managed to control the pace of rallies by playing attacking badminton until the end of opening half of first game.
After the one-minute interval, both shuttlers continued showing up their remarkable performance and reached at the concluding stage in the same thrilling fashion.
At this stage, Aditya showed his maturity as he played controlled badminton and remained successful in claiming the opening game with a tight margin of 21-19.
Harsheel was once again in trouble in the second game as he faced a punishing treatment from his opponent who was flawless in the arena.
The impressive Aditya displayed his staggering craft in the arena by picking the bird early from all corners and maintained his domination over his rival.
Aditya continued putting up reasonable show in the concluding part of second game and remained successful in winning the set with a superb 21-13 total on score board.
The lofty Aditya stamped his mark over Harsheel in straight games with a dominating way by a controlled margin of 21-19 and 21-13.
