Aditya Mehta beats Paul Davison in first qualifying round of 2012 Shanghai Masters – Snooker Update
Winner of the 2012 Asian Snooker Championship from India, Aditya Mehta grabbed his place in the professional circuit tour of new snooker season on the basis of his tremendous performance in the mentioned event. The Indian potter was quite happy to earn his
place in the pro circuit and entered the new snooker season with hopes to make an appearance in the events.
In his recent quest at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield, Mehta was up against England’s Paul Davison in the first round encounter of the 2012 Shanghai Masters snooker tournaments. He showed some great resilience during his run and dominated the game
completely with his classy snooker skills. Davison had no chance to capitalise in the match and tumbled down by the score line of 5-2.
While speaking to the local media after his success, Mehta said, “It's been a good start for the season. Today's match was an enjoyable one to play. I'm waiting to play against James tomorrow. We've been contenders recently and our match tomorrow is sure
to be an interesting one.”
First session of the match was totally triumphed over by the Indian potter as he cruised into 3-1 lead with great snooker knocks. He grabbed early lead of two frames at 2-0 before Davison clinched the third frame to move one frame up at 2-1. The fourth frame
started a bit tough for Mehta but he balanced in the middle and clicked the frame victory to jump at 3-1 lead.
The second session proceeded the same way as Mehta claimed the second frame of the session after Davison added one more frame on his side of the score board to take the scores at 3-2. After Mehta made it 4-2, he was feeling quite confident of claiming the
victory and he grabbed one hitting the seventh frame finishing the match 5-2.
Mehta has successfully made his way into the second round qualifier of the event where he will be facing Thailand’s James Wattana. The clash will be interesting to watch because both of the players have never faced each other in any battle so they will try
to cash this opportunity and make their way into the third round qualifiers.
