Aditya Mehta triumphs over Laxman Rawat in 2012 ASCA International Snooker Championship
After putting up an excellent snooker display in Chennai, the 2012 Asian Snooker Championship winner from India, Aditya Mehta was able to oust the National Junior Snooker Champion of India, Laxman Rawat, by the score line of 3-2 in the round robin formatted
group matches of the Kences Constructions 2012 ASCA International Snooker Championship.
The clash was expected to be in favour of Mehta but no one knew that Rawat will give a real tough time to the Asian Snooker Championship winner. Rawat went neck-to-neck with the experienced potters and at one time it seemed that he is going to unsettle Mehta
completely. However, Mehta took control of the proceedings remarkably and hit the winning spot.
Rawat put Mehta under pressure after he clinched the first frame by the score line of 5-52 firing a tremendous knock of 40 points. Mehta did not lose his focus and replied back brilliantly with back-to-back frame wins by the score line of 63-23 and 114-0
after pocketing two cracking breaks of 39 and 71 in the latter frame.
The fourth frame was the most tussling one as both potters played incredibly in order to have a sound position. However, Rawat was able to win the frame by 60-63 to pull level at 2-2. The youngster tried his best in the fifth frame to hit the victory but
Mehta prevailed with impressive game and claimed match victory by 3-2
