I would like to know when adjusting my speakers with the amplifier, how do you know to set them to large or small? Is it by how many watts they can handle? What is the difference in sound?I'd like to hear more high crisp tones,I'm getting plenty of bass. I have 2 floor standing front L & R with built-in powered sub-woofers,a center speaker, and 2 surounds.

  1. Get Monster cable I did that for my klh small speakers. Some guy at the hardware store said that I can't do that, but I did anyways just twist them for like ten sentence and it will really make your speakers crisp.

  2. If your speakers have a WOOFER, tell the receiver they are LARGE.

All other speakers should be defined as SMALL.  The receiver will do 'bass management' and route low-frequency sounds away from SMALL speakers to the dedicated sub or a LARGE speaker.

    In your case:

    - L/R speakers LARGE

    - Center SMALL

    - Rears SMALL

  3. I Would suggest always using small speakers if you have adaquate bass with subwoorfers. then the mids and highs will come nice and crisp in music and sound great in movies aswell.

  4. the setting change how the crossover handle the tones and the bass.
