Question:

Adjusting a Craftsman Snowblower Carburetor

I just purchased a Craftsman 179cc 24" Snow Thrower brand new. Is there an adjustment on the carb to adjust the speed/rpm? Even with the throttle at the high or fast position, the motor just seems to lag. Adjusting the choke on this unit doesn't seem to make any difference, aside from when the unit is cold. It just feels as though an adjustment would rev the engine to its proper rpm. I'm just not sure if there is an adjustment s***w. I read somewhere that some engines don't have an adjustment, and it is what it is. I have the manual, and in the troubleshooting section, it says "If the engine runs erratically, the carburetor is not adjusted properly". Then it says, "Contact your Sears Parts & Repair Center".  Go figure!
