Question:

Adjusting stance on burton snowboard?

I have a directional twin and I want to adjust the stance width to be narrower. I use the board for all around riding, mainly carving though and Im looking to progress to possibly jumps.Which bindings should I move front or back? Someone told me to put the bindings at the farthest settings and then move them equally in towards each other. I did that and the problem im having is after I move each of them in one notch they are still a little wide and i need to move one of the bindings towards the other one more notch. keep in mind this is a burton so it has the triangular pattern holes so I can only move one in one more notch. If I moved both again it would be 19'' stance instead of 20'' and Im 5'8'' and I think that would be a little narrow. So which one should I move

  1. Since this is a twin board and probably has no setback or very little setback (you didn't say) you will have to move your front binding one notch back.

Otherwise, you could end up with a negative setback. Since you are riding this board all mountain, a little bit of setback will be a good thing - so start with the wider stance centered on the mounting holes and move the front binding back one. You should be able to measure your setback at about 3/4" to 1" and that will be fine.

    Good Luck

  2. Usually for my board I just leave my back foot at 0 and my front foot andwhere between 12 and 15, but that's my choice, I do rails and Jumps (mostly rails) and it works out just fine for me

  3. It is a DIRECTIONAL Twin. Which means that it only looks like a twin, but is still Directional.

I think one think you are missing is that there is not only 2 places where you can place the disks in the 3d patterns. If you turn the disks 180 degrees and have the triangle face the other way, you can also put it in that way. so it is basically like all other boards.

I think you need to center the board to help you put pressure on your front foot. Setback is to help you lean back and put pressure on your back foot to help powder floatation.

To center you board, move the front bindings (your left foot in this case) out more, 1 or 2 spaces out. It is probably easier if you just measure the board itself and place the bindings in the desired location and then moving it to the nearest s***w holes.

  4. i would say have your bindings a bit far apart. if you want to progress into jumps and tricks it gives you better balance when your legs are farther apart. if that doesn't work, try angling your bindings out a little at the 19". it will make them feel farther apart. i keep my bindings at the same set of holes. (like 1 in from each edge) instead of putting one further out than the other. also if your front foot is your weak one, try skating with ur foot behind you board instead of infront.(if you dont do this already) its easier on the knees. you can always try goofy see how you do also. theres nothing wrong with that.
