Recovering from a stress reaction in his lower spine, the rookie http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 pace bowler has said that adjusting to the standards of Test cricket, and that toO in English conditions, was a tough challenge for him.
"Over there [in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013], it was international cricket," said the 24-year-old Trinidad and Tobago medium pace bowler during an interview to the Trinidad Express on Tuesday. "It was a big step away from regional cricket. You have to concentrate a little more
on what you want to do and the actual planning,” he added further.
Gabriel made his Test debut against the world number one ranked Test side at the historic Lord’s cricket ground last month. The rookie pace bowler however, failed to get the best out of the English line up as he was forced to walk off the park during England’s
second innings due to back spasms. The pacer was nevertheless excited at having debuted at the home of cricket.
“It's every cricketer's dream to play at Lord's and it just happened to be me. [Now I must] get back from injury and address the selectors once more," said Gabriel.

Subsequent scans revealed stress in Gabriel’s lower spine, as the pacer was forced to cut short his tour of England and return home for a rehabilitation programme. Tino Best, the 30-year-old fast bowler from Barbados, who had not played for the national
side since 2009, replaced Gabriel in the squad.
