My brother is getting a administrative separation from the marine corps. He is told he will have a hard time getting a job. Would it be smart to put down on a resume or application that he was a marine or should he let the employer find out for themselves? He is applying for security jobs.

  1. he will need to be up front.. but with an RE4..he will NOT be getting any security jobs.  and yes they DO require you to produce a DD-214.  they will find out anyway when they run his SS number

By omitting the information..he's committing Fraud.  AGAIN.

  2. I wouldnt mention it. If they ask to see his discharge it will come back to haunt him. His DD 214 narrative reasoning will state "Fraudulent Enlistment" Thats a red flag for anyone.
