  1. Remember that the whole point of passwords is to keep systems AND data secure. This would not be the case if you could break in simply, or just reinstall to reset the password, and hence most of the options in other answers are nonsense.

And I would guess that you do not have the install disks to recover all the installed software from a reformat.

So you may want to try hacked tools to reset the password - they mostly require that you create a bootable disk and then boot to it.

  2. The password is "admin"

  3. A program called "Winternals" can wipe out the Administrator password completely. It is free software by Microsoft.

  4. you will need to re-install the system. You will need a new XP disk, or to get the recovery disk set for this machine, as the one for any other machine will not install. You will need to boot from the cd and then do a completely new install.

  5. You don't need to reinstall anthing.. Try the links belo, all of them can reset your password, I've tried each, they work very well.

  6. Reboot the PC and start hitting the F8 key, get to the menu and select Safe Mode. From there you can create a new Admin account.

  7. your going to need a windows CD. when you PC boots there is a screen that says <button> enter setup push that button to enter BIOS then you need to change your boot device priority to make your CD-ROM your 1st boot device you can then reboot with the CD in you will be prompted to hit any key to boot from CD do so, then when you get to the partition stage delete all partitions and create a new one and continue your install

  8. did you try logging in with thepassword admin, if not try logging in with NO password too!

  9. if it is vista, then you need to activate the administrator account first. otherwise, if there is a password, you need to speak to people you have bought it from, they should have it, unless it's stolen(when you should call cops).

Probably you are logged in as a second user or your user profile is 'general'. It needs to be changed to administrator.

  10. Have you tried not putting in anything.....just hit enter without adding any password.
