  1. A lot of times they can arrange a plea bargain - a deal for a lesser sentence if they plead guilty and avoid all the court costs.

  2. Worked for me. I stayed out of jail that way. I would have spent 3-5 years in if I had fought it. I was guilty of course. Honesty is the best policy when you s***w up and end up in court. Do yourself and your conscience a favor and admit it on the spot.

  3. if you are already convicted then sincere remorse might help. or if you have something else to offer of value just before sentencing, google the Hans Reiser case, although sentencing has not yet occurred there.

  4. The truth always is rewarded in the end.

  5. No always plead not guilty.  It doesn't matter and I hate Plea Bargaining.  It is a way for lawyers and prosecutors to NOT DO THEIR JOBS.

  6. Well I'd say that would be like letting the horses out of the barn after the barn door's been closed wouldn't you say? I'd say why would u first plead guilty if you know that your not? to me that makes no sense... And you don't say what they are convicted or what is trying to plead inocent of?
