"I had some trouble keeping on Ajmal's doosra (the second one)," said Adnan speaking to the media reporters ahead of the second Test starting at Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
Akmal was referring to Ajmal's ‘doosra’ delivery which turns the other way, as compared to the normal off-break.
The 34-year-old off-spinner caused havoc in the first innings, as he claimed his career best figures of 7 for 55 in England’s first innings. He claimed a further 3 wickets for 42 runs in the second innings to romp Pakistan to victory by a margin of 10 wickets
inside three days, in the first Test match.
Adnan Akmal, the younger brother of out of favour wicketkeeper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kamran-Akmal-c70122, found it difficult to keep off Ajmal, even though he claimed seven catches in the match.
The 26-year-old wicketkeeper batsman made his debut against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 in 2010. He rubbished rumours that he had established signals with Saeed Ajmal to determine the next delivery; instead he said that he practiced a lot on
Ajmal’s bowling, and all his hard work is finally paying off.
Adnan credited Pakistan’s fielding coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chaudhri-Ijaz-Ahmed-c50531 for his good show behind the stumps.
"I worked with Ijaz Ahmed and the work out and the drills helped me a lot. That came as a great benefit for me and helped me in the match," said Adnan.
"It's a bit different and difficult to keep off Ajmal. You know how to keep wickets on the off-spin that it will come in and one that goes out, so its difficult. Every time I keep wickets I watch his hand and have practised a lot," he added further.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 would be hoping to fare better against the spin bowling of Ajmal, while Pakistan will look to win the second Test match, to take the
series.
