The young Pakistani wicket keeper, Adnan Akmal, has stated that he enjoys his role behind the stumps but batting is his plus point, and wants to help the side with his batting as well as wicket keeping skills.
"My effort is always to give my best for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, for my team so every time I want to give benefit to the team. I enjoy keeping but batting is my plus point," said the 26-year-old wicketkeeper batsman to media reporters ahead of the second Test against
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749.
The 26-year-old replaced his elder brother http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kamran-Akmal-c70122 behind the stumps. During the first Test last week in Dubai, he played a valuable knock of 61 runs to help his side gain a crucial 146-run lead over England in the first innings. He also looked good
behind the wickets, as he collected seven catches in the match which Pakistan won by 10 wickets.
Adnan Akmal was all praise for the prolific off-spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859, saying it was the outstanding bowling of Ajmal that forced the English batsmen to capitulate easily on the first day of the match.
Adnan made his debut against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in 2010, and was quick to praise the English batsman.
"I think we bowled very well, they are better batsmen than us,” said the wicketkeeper batsman. “It was Allah's blessings and that's why we won the match. Ajmal was outstanding in the match," he added further.
The wicketkeeper was also asked about the mystery delivery, dubbed the ‘teesra’, but as a typical wicketkeeper he refused to say it was any different.
"I never felt any difference, they were normal deliveries like I have been keeping on in the last ten twelve matches, he was bowling in the same manner. It may be different for the batsmen but I did not feel any difference," said the right-handed batsman.
Prior to the start of the match, Saeed Ajmal had been raving about a new delivery that he had developed, but since the end of the first Test, he has changed his stance - he is unsure about the effectiveness of the ‘teesra’, and he further said that he will
try it next in the One Day matches.
