Adobe Bridge blurred images when importing

Help please I'm getting blurred poor quality images when importing Sony A700 raw files into bridge, All my Minolta raw files and all TIFF's & JPEGS are fine, I've tried switching between hi and low res thumbnails still same. This is the latest software release from Adobe.

All files are fine Photoshop CS3

  1. If the minolta ones are fine and the sony are not the problem may not be the software but may be the camera or a setting on the camera when you are taking the pictures

  2. Make sure you have the newest RAW plug in (click UPDATE on HELP menu and it will download the newest one for you). I think the newest version is 5.5 now? Can't remember.

The other answer is correct. If there is no "preview" file built into the RAW file, it has to create one on the fly, and that takes time if your computer is not fast. Try to slide the "size" control thingie on the bottom to something larger and see if it's still clear. It should be clear - as large as the whole screen, assuming that the photo was taken correctly.

  3. It's just because your files are much larger, give Bridge a few seconds and the preview will 'pop' into focus. Bridge is having to build a preview from the Raw file which can take time on a low spec machine.

Upgrading to a large Mp camera can leave your computer spec behind, Photoshop/Bridge needs load of Ram, 2 GB should be thought of as a minimum with files this large.
