I was adopted and I'm only 15. But I want to just see my birth parents. When could I see them? Is there a certain age limit I have to be to find them?

  1. your too young. you should wait

  2. Do you have any contact with them whatsoever? I'm adopted and I'm waiting until i'm 18 to meet up with them so that I'm an adult and my birthbrother is an adult and that way we'll be 'mature' enough to handle it. Right now I talk to my birthdad and brother online. Seeing your birthparents is a choice up to you, your adopted family and your birth family. Just make sure you're ready. Do you have a picture? If you have had no contact at all I would wait a bit, get in contact with them and get to know them before you come face to face. I hope they're all you hope they will be. :) Good luck!

  3. Well i was adopted too and i have met my birth mom but not my birth dad because i dont know him..

you are not to old to meet them..

You should maybe ask your parents

if you can see them maybe ask your

parents to contact them by email, phone etc..

  4. I don't think you can legally search until 18.  Getting records depends where you were born...many states are closed record states and unless you get a court order, you wont get your records.  Once you are 18 though, you can register with reunion registries including state specific ones and the ISRR.

  5. Wow to the answer above from Tay Tay whatever.. how RUDE!

i don't think there is an age when you can see your birth parents. You should talk to your parents about seeing your birth parents. And if they say no you're not ready, wait a while and maybe ask again. Or, wait till you are 18.

    good luck.

  6. If your adoptive parents won't help you - then you have to wait until you are 18 (usually) to be able to apply for identifying information from the state you were born in/adopted in.

If that state is an 'open records state' you will be able to apply for a copy of your original birth certificate.

Check here for details on each US state - if you were born elsewhere - add more info to your question -

You can check if your first mother has placed her details on the adoption registry at adoption.com -

    http://registry.adoption.com/

And once you're 18 - you can place your details on the ISRR registry (or you can have your a-parents register you before 18) -

I do hope that your adoptive parents will help you in your quest - that will help a great deal. Also find out what adoption agency you were placed through if possible.

If you need any support - there's a great adoptee forum - with a board for teenagers also -

I wish you all the very best with your search.

just beacuse you want to find ur birth parents sure the h**l doesnt make you a s**t or anything!!GRRRRR!!!if i knew you(evil person who wrote the mean comment) i would so kick your a** right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  8. Its normal to want to see your birth parents. You are curious and have many questions.  Be ready when you do it might not turn out the way you want. THe birth parents could be emotionally bankrupt (not care) this could make you feel worse. After all did they try to find you?

Be happy with the parents who adopted you - they got to PICK YOU!! birth parents sometimes are asses and they treat their own children very badly. Good luck and I hope your curiosity is answered / you are special even if you don't find these people.  I personally could never give up my own!
