  1. I'm going to guess that that would be an awkward enough situation that it would never be permitted to happen in the first place.

But then the whole Camilla thing did, so who knows. ;-)

  2. For the British throne, not a chance.  One must be in the succession by blood, as a descendant of the Electress Sophia.

The Queen could theoretically make anyone a Prince (as she is the "font of honor" and can bestow titles at will), but she can't put someone into the line of succession.  That hypothetical prince would never be able to succeed to the throne.

  3. No, adopted children are not in the line of succession for the throne. Parliament makes the laws which establish and control the succession

  4. In the United Kingdom, no.  The laws of succession state that one must be a legitimate, natural child in order to become the monarch.  That means no adopted children and no illegitimate kids.

  5. interesting question  i dont think the royals ever adopt

  6. No adopted children can not be in line to the throne. Even if Prince Andrew adopted a child that child doesn't even have the use of a title. Unless the Queen personally grant him/her one which is most unlikely.

  7. No. The succession is carefully outlined and would go to the next blood relative.

  8. I know one of the Princes of Monaco was an adopted child, but I forget which one
