Adoptees Searching?

Why does it seem like the onus is always on the adoptees to search?

Why don't more people expect the birth parents to search for their child?

  1. EXACTLY!  because they already know their history.  ii is not a mystery

  2. I'm sure people have a variety of misconceptions, but I do know that there are plenty of first parents who do search.  Many are afraid to "bother" their relinquished children, but they have no idea how the adoptee will feel until they find them, anyway.

  3. the girl might not want to give birth.

  4. because people assume that birthparents dont want anything to do with their child, which is why they gave them up

Which most likely isnt true, if they didnt care they wouldnt have went through the ordeal.

  5. I am a birthmother. I started my search on my own.

  6. I am an adoptee and found my birth family...However my question is - do birth FATHERs ever search??? Yesterday I found out my birth father's first name. And that's all I will get I am told (since my birth mother doesn't wish to speak with me.)

  7. It was rammed down our mothers throats that they were absolutely not to search under any circumstances

Luckily many of them do anyways - there are loads of first Moms searching for their sons and daughters although some still feel it is not their place to do so, unfortunately.

  8. cause the moms maybe feel ashamed so they dont look
