well heres the story. right now i am 17 and my friend just turned 16. she THINKS not 100% sure but she thinks she is pregnant. her period is late and she has been feeling sick and throwing up lately. i told her to wait a couple more days and take a pregnancy test. she said if she is pregnant she dont NOT want it. i have an 8 and a half month old daughter myself that i take great care of!! also i have my own 2 bedroom apartment, i have a good job, going to nigh school getting my GED so i can go on to collage and become an RN, and i am happily married! she wants me to take care of her baby. sadly she does not know who the father is so he will obviously not be involved. i was wondering if i could possible adopt her baby... after i turn 18 can we just go to the courts and have custody signed over to me? how would we go about doing that? also money is not an issue. i could raise my child and hers with no problem. can someone give me some good advice on how to go about doing this? thanks!!

  1. I am in the same area that you are in!  Although I am not married and I don't have a child, my friend is in a very bad spot and I feel for her baby, she is 19 has a one year old and is 9 months pregnant!  She doesn't have a job, doesn't have a GED, her house is nasty and the baby is too!  I want to adopted her oldest, but I don't know how to go by doing so!  I do have a full time job and I have my GED and taking college classes online!  I have a two bedroom house. Money is not an issue either!  But, just because you are 17, doesn't make you a bad mother!  And I am so glad that I am not alone out there for this and I am so glad that you have turned your life around and is making it!  There is no need for what these people are saying to you!  They have not been in our shoes!  By the way I am 17 also, I will be 18 in just a few short days!  And I'm doing better than most 20-25 year olds, if not BETTER!
