Is there a website I can go to to find information on adopting from Asia ( I live in the US )? Anyone have a personal story about it?

  1. Why do you want to adopt from Asia? There are thousands of children in your own country who are waiting to be adopted.


  2. There are many websites.  Just Google "China Adoption" or other Asian countries, such as Kazakhstan (spelling), Phillipines, Taiwan.  The requirements vary greatly from country to country, and some (like Japan) do not participate in international adoption at all.

    We plan to adopt from China, and I can tell you that they have a very organized international adoption process, but the wait is currently 3+ years.

    Ignore comments from people who think that they are in a position to deem that some children are more important than others.  ALL children in this world deserve a loving home and family, those in our country (the US) are not any more entitled to that than anyone else.  People ask us "Why China?"-well, because that is where we were lead.

    I am guessing that the majority of those making such comments have never adopted-either domestically or internationally.  Yet, for whatever reason they want to ridicule someone else for their decision.  Get over yourself!

  3. you can google "america world adoption agency." they deal with international adoptions. We are going through them now. You may email me privately about this if you'd like.

  4. I was adopted; I'm from S. Korea. My parents were divorced, he left before she knew she was pregnant. Single mothers don't get much support at all, if any. I'm so grateful and feel so blessed to be here. My co workers just got back from S. Korea, one of their brothers just adopted a baby girl. I think its a wonderful thing! I plan on having kids of my own, but would love to adopt one from somewhere around the world to give a child an opportunity to live.

  5. i agree with saga  why would you want  a kid from asia  when  there are kids in  america  looking  for  a good home  and  a family  that  will love  them
