  1. i think 16 i heard you have to tell her then!!! GOOD LUCKK!!!

  2. Be careful around here as some people will be offended that you have said "She Costs" and others will find it unacceptable that you changed her name....

In general it is best to tell her starting now...  as she grows up show you are comfortable being her adoptive mother and father and tell her that she is...as she grows up let her feel free to talk with you about it....and make it not a secret...

don't tell her she cost anything... The cost of the Adoption Was $20,000 but she was not paid for....

    I love the name Tatum!

  3. I think you should tell her that she is adopted today and apologize to her for changing her name.  I beg you please, please to consult a family psychologist to work with you on how to respect this child's history and heritage and her name.

happymom...  - Respect for the child needs to come before respect for the parent.  I thought that was the mantra of adoption.

  4. I was adopted almost 61 years ago. Realizing that times have considerabley changed over the years, I was told that I was adopted at the age of 4. My parents didn't hide it, and made sure that I knew that I was both loved and wanted. Looking back, this was way more important to me than being adopted. I adopted a child of my own for the very same reason, I wanted her, and I loved her. the word "Adopted" has never been an issue with us. My daughter and son-in-law are now getting ready to adopt a child themselves.

  5. she costs?

    r u kididng me?!?!??!?!

why did u feel the need to even mention that anyways?

you must be looking for a rise from people...

and why change her name and especially at 2 years old?

that's not right in my opinion....

you should start telling her right away

several times a year until she realizes what you mean

    which could be at 2,3,4,5,etc....

  6. Problems with this:

"found a little girl" was she walking around the neighborhood?

"She costs about 20,000$"  so what you want a clap on the back or applause?

Tell her NOW and then explain to her how you "found" her and "paid" for her.  Then explain that you changed her name.

  7. first, you can explain to her why you felt the need to strip her of her own name.

  8. Well, now, where do I start??????????

    First of all--------------

You "found" a little girl????  How demoralizing to say you found her like she was a penny on the sidewalk!!!

You call her "a little girl" but you adopted her?????  Then she would be your daughter!!!

SHE cost $20K??????  My god, how could you even write those words about your, or any, child?

When should you tell her SHE is adopted?  Never!!!  Tell her YOU adopted her.

You named her Tatum????  What was HER name?  What about the confusion?  What about honoring her and her original name?  Want to wipe away her history???  You give her new name to millions of strangers, nut cases and perverts on the internet???  Geeshhh.

Any advice?????  Too much, way too much to give out here.

I hope to God that you are a hoax.  Please let this be a plant.
