  1. Understand that if you tell the child they are adopted it's really going to cause them to have some issues.

I was adopted and it's a constant struggle to feel like I'm wanted, even though I know my family loves me more than anything.

    Especially with fear of abandonment.

Also know that your child will love you just as much, if not more, than their "biological" parent.

I couldn't imagine life without my family.

  2. Hi,

My husband and I have been looking to adopt for the past year.  So I know a lot about adoption.  My email address is michelle.miller@pobox.com I would love to talk to you about your adoption questions.

    Love,

    Michelle

  3. Adopt from the US, we have so many kids here that need families and not just babies but kids too!

  4. 1. You should be in a good financial position to adopt.

    2. You should be married.

    3. Both husband and wife should agree for adoption

4.The adoption should be registered and terms should be acceptable to both.

    5. The law should permit.

               Good luck..

  5. First of all make sure BOTH natural parents agree with the adoption don't try to go behind one of their backs.

Mother of son that has been fighting to get his son returned so far get's monthly visit with his son that can't and will not ever be adopted

  6. Do your research and find a reputable agency/attorney. Talk to people, get references, research, research, research.

Do what feels right for you and your family!

  7. Contact a local reputable adoption agency in your area to discuss the different types of adoption available.  You may also want to contact your local Department of Human Services, Children & Youth Division to discuss foster adopt programs in your area.

Make sure that you talk to someone who is knowledgable about the laws in your state to insure that everything is done legally.

    Good luck to you.

  8. Do your research first.  Check out the adoption laws in your state.  Decide if you want to adopt a baby, or an older child.  Then find a well established agency or lawyer who is equipped to help you in your search.  If you do an open adoption make sure that the father is aware of the fact the mother is giving up the baby.

    Good luck!
