Is there anyway to adopt without going through foster care? My husband and I would like to adopt a new born female. I've heard about being at the hospital when the baby is delievered and naming her and we'd really like to do that, are there any websites or information about that? Thanks so much!

  1. Go to an attorney that specializes in adoptions.   There are adoption agencies that have adoption for infants as well.   The agencies normally take longer though.

  2. you will need to get an attorney and an agency to help you find a pregnant women who has plans of adoption. It is quite expensive though. The first step before finding a child would be to get adoption approved first (homestudies, background checks, possibly some classes, interviews) It takes a few months to get all that done.

  3. You have a lot of research to do about adoption if you're asking a question like this.  If you are ever matched with a woman to adopt her child, pray that any child you get will be healthy, and will love you.  If you cut down to specifying female, you might not get one.  Yes, I wanted a little girl when I adopted Jacob, and when his 1st dad came out of the delivery room and said, "We've got a son", I was thrilled at the fact that he was here on earth!  I wouldn't trade him for 10 little girls, and he's the absolute light of my eyes.

  4. Pre-adoptive parents have no business being in the birthing room - that's private time for mother and baby and hovering over them is predatory and coercive (not to mention illegal in most industrialized nations)

  5. You are talking about domestic adoption through a private, licensed agency.  Go to ABC Adoptions for lots of information and forums!

  6. You bet.  It's easy as pie!

There are THOUSANDS of women waiting at the hospital to hand over their children to strangers--no strings attached!

Maybe you and your husband should go to the hospital and ask--it's just like Burger King.

    Have it your way!

    Good luck.
