Adoption?? (again, sorry)?

If i adopt a child about age 6-8 will i be able to keep (s)he forever or is there a chance (s)he will be taken away from me?? Because i want a little girl, but i dont wanna get really close to her and then have her get taken away from me!!

im confused...why would they be taken away? are you thinking the bio family will come back?

i have seen your other questions on the subject and i just dont understand whom you are afraid of. can you explain further?

once an adoption is final, it is pretty much final. unless something happens after.

If you adopt a little girl or boy, when the adoption is final then the child is in your legal custody and short of you doing something to harm the child, the child will stay in your custody

it depends on how the adoption thing is set up if you have a child that is totally in state custody then i dont see where you could have problems but if parents have not signed off rights then you could run into problems good luck and if you do adopt even if there is a posibility that she could have to move on dont cheet her out of the love that she deserves

the foster care system has over 100,000 children in it who have been removed from their families permanently due to abuse and neglect. They can never be in their care again, these children have no chance of reunification.

Before you do anything go to your library and find books on adoptions. Take the time to read everything written on what you want to do, learn about the good and what can happen if you aren't aware of what should have been done. You will find alot of information and prepare yourself to ask the right questions and get the right information. Since this is your first time at trying to adopt, stay within the United States, I'm not trying to be mean, or upset any apple cart but those adoptions cost alot of money and time because you're dealing with a country and the people of that country in obtaining a child for adoption.

Why do you think they would be taken away from you? if adopt through foster care it is solid. they are yours once the birth parents sign off their rights they have about 48 hours to change their minds. we are going through it right now. It truly sucks to get close to a child and lose them.

If you adopt her and have full custody they can't take her away (I don't think)

Maybe (I'm not sure now) when the child is older like 18, 19 she will not legally be yours anymore... But you will still be her Mom and she your daughter in your heart and thats all that matters.
