I'm wanting to adopt a newborn. My husband and I decided that we'd adopt instead of trying to have another one. I need to know of some lagit adoption agencies from the SE Georgia or North East Florida areas or some that will actually pay for certain fees for adoption. I'd love it if anyone here could provide me with information about adoption agencies that are lagit and that have fundings for adoptions. Some adoption agencies actually pay most, if not all fees. I know that there are very few of those though. I could be very greatful if you can help me with this!

  1. Private adoption costs around $12,000-$30,000. If you want to adopt and have the costs covered you are probably talking about adopting from the foster care in your state/county. These are  kids that have been abused or neglected, and the courts aren't able to reunite them with their family (first priority). So the parental rights are terminanted, and the children become available for adoption. There are very few newborns available in this system, although there are some.

I believe there is also funding for some disabled children. However, healthy newborns are generally adopted through the private (expensive) adoption agency. Our agency was in CA in used a sliding scale based on income, but it was expensive even at the low end of the scale.

  2. Adoption agencies are businesses - even non-profit agencies have to charge some fees in order to keep their doors open.

You might consider registering to be foster parents. If you are qualified and licensed to do that, the State may allow you to ask to foster children who are adoptable and the fees would be non-existent or certainly very low. Plus, you are paid for caring for the child during the pre-adoption period.

Do a search: the name of your state +"foster care"

    good luck to you
