  1. This is a pretty good list of things that can be done in active searching.

  2. you could go to the adoption agency where she was adopted they could probably help u might need proof that u no her or at least try to go to where she was an ask around bout her

  3. Great site, magic pointe shoes! Thanks for the info.

I'll just add a couple things:

The International Soundex Reunion Registry:  http://www.isrr.net/

If you know what agency handled her adoption (social services? private? LDS or Catholic Charities?), contact the agency and request whatever non-identifying info they will release to you. Ask if they have a registry and sign up for it. Or leave a letter authorizing the release of your information should she come looking for your family.

Also, many states (US) have a registry too. You can find in using google.  Sign up there, as well.

And utilize magic pointe's web site!

    Good luck!

  4. try salvation army.

  5. http://registry.adoption.com/

Also check if your State runs a registry

Don't rely solely upon registries, though - they are dependant upon the other party actually knowing about them (many don't), the other party being alive!, and the other party being qualified to register (as with some of the State registries, certain people do not qualify to register e.g. fathers who are not named on the original birth certificate)

Find a search and support group for the state you are searching in and some good search angels, who know the ropes.

    Good luck

  6. ;you can writeto the socials ecurityadmin and askt hem if theyhave heard from her. do you have a name? that is best if you do. cousinconnect.com is one place you find where she was adopted which county and then fromt here go to court there that does that and maye they will give you infor.

  7. Good Luck to you!  I have an older sister out there somewhere as well and I have no idea who she is.  She is actually my half sister that is 18 months older than I am.  But still, one day I hope to meet her.
