Question:

Adoption in the UK?

Does anyone know anything about adoption in the UK?

My husband and I have been trying for years to have a family. We lost our son when he was one day old last year and 6 weeks ago our daughter was still born. We are going to try again ourselves one more time, but if we suffer another loss we will start the adoption process.

Does anyone know of any advice to give? Can we find someone to adopt from ourselves, or do we have to go through an agency? How long does it usually take?

I am 27 and my husband is 31. We've been together for almost 11 years. We would prefer to adopt a baby, rather than an older child.

  1. You will need counseling to work through your losses before you  should even consider adoption.  Adopted children are not successful replacements for those losses.

  2. http://www.deti.zp.ua/eng/

Here is link for Orphanages of the Ukraine, I do not know if you were going to adopted locally or from another country, but there are lots of interesting articles and photos and links.

  3. Know friends who have been through the process- it can take a long time be prepared for that- you need stringent checks -

-Just be prepared for a long fight and good luck
