  1. I never heard the term until I recently started coming here to Yahoo Answers, but I read a reply to a question very similar to this in another question.

I think it is a term meant to refer to what some think is the pro-adoption community "sweetening" the idea of adoption.  Others (against adoption???  I am not certain) use it as an insult, almost.

Certainly, adoption is a difficult decision for a birth mother.  I can not imagine what they go through.  But I believe it is a better option than killing your child or raising one that you can not properly care for, etc.  That is my personal belief, and by sharing it with you some would say (if you agree with me) that we are drinking the adoption kool-aid.

It is not a popular term, as I have been involved in the adoption world (both online and "in the real world") for several years and as I already said, I did not hear the term until I came here recently.

  2. Do you believe that loving parents can erase the impact and consequences of being adopted?

Do you believe that birthmothers move on after placing a child for adoption?

Do you believe that adopted people deserve to have false birth certificates and not have access to their original birth records?

Do you believe it is better to take children via adoption instead of attempting to solve why children are being  abandoned in the first place?

Drinking the adoption koolaid is thinking that adoption in the form that it is now is wonderful and that there is no need to improve.

  7. If you don't like the way she answers questions, block her from seeing yours. That's what that feature is for.

  8. lt's what that psychotic person refers to whenever people are happy or satisfied with thier adoption experience.  Apparently she is very bitter about giving a baby up for adoption, therefore is here to poison everybody against it.  l hope people stop listening to her.  l think she's got mental health problems

  9. Sounds crazy to me! I don't get it either!!
