do u have to be a resident of the united states to be able to adopt a kid?

    adoption happens all over the world in many different countries. you do not need to be a "resident" of the U.S. to adopt a child.

  3. You can probably adopt a child in your own country, though adoption laws vary, so it's hard to say without knowing where you are.

    Some people who adopt foster children from the United States do live abroad. I know children are sometimes adopted to Canada, England, and France, and I'm sure other places as well. International adoption happens from the United States as well as coming to that country. While moving to a new country is a transition (I'm an immigrant, so I'm not going to minimize that,) this provides homes for children who are in need of stable families, and have not found one in the US.

    I'm sure there are ways you can adopt, but it's hard to be more specific without knowing more about your situation.
