  1. yes I think so, but it depends the adoption agency=]

  2. In the USA, it's different in each state.  You'll probably need to find out Colorado's laws, and Canada's laws (and I'm guessing it's the same as in the US, that it varies in each province).  Contact an adoption lawyer who is VERY experienced (you'll need that experience - adoption laws are so complex that even some adoption lawyers miss little-known laws that mess up adoptions for a long time; I've seen it happen).

  3. My fiance and I live in a state where we couldn't adopt together, and if we got married, we'd have had to wait 3 years (then, they just changed it to 2), so I adopted as a single parent, and when we do get married, we'll do a step-parent adoption, which is much easier!

  4. First, depends on the state, but what the agencies are looking for is more 'stability of the relationship' rather than 'how long have you been married.'  If you've been together more than a year, but aren't married, it shouldn't be an issue.

Most jurisdictions (courts) in the USA won't finalize an adoption knowing that the child will be removed from the country, except in cases of relatives adopting or other exceptional circumstances.

I wouldn't waste money on attorneys, at least not until you've spoken to the agency in Colorado, as well as an agency in your jurisdiction.

  5. I don't know if it is OK to adopt a child when you are not married, but personally I think you should think about children when you are married, that way when you contact the adoption agency and they interview you, they know that as of now the child will have two parents that will love them dearly and they will live in a stabilized enviorment together.

Now about the different countries adoption thing. I don't see why not. If people in America can adopt kids from China why can't Canadian residencies adopt an American child?

  6. yes but ude have to figure out whos gonna take care of it until then && ude prolly have to make some arrangements to get the baby if its frum there
