was wondering if anyone from aus is able to help me out.

my best friend is going thru a rough time,

she was adopted out when she was young

and wants to find out about her sister and brother

though she only knows their first names as they were all really young when the adoptions took place.

if anyone is able to help us get started we would really appreciate it

  1. Hi Ashleigh,

Your friend should register with International Soundex Reunion Registry first:

http://isrr.net  It's free.  Matches can be made without names.  It worked for me.

I'm sure Possum & Gershom will have some good ideas specifically for Australia to add here for you.  You might want to suggest that she join a support group for this process.  Thanks for being a good friend to her.  Wishing your friend & her family the best.

  2. i will be willing  to help need to ask some things from her it may be hard on her but i am willing to help for free i am a paralegal and would love to give joy to her life  dharris733@aol.com

  3. i live in the united states but, there are a few ways she can get the answers she needs/wants for closure. she needs to find out what agency ect she was adopted out from. When and if she can find that out, they may still have old records and she can maybe find out that way. another good way is looking on the net sometimes. through different ancestry type sites. hope that helps a little and tell your friend i said good luck, hang in there, and don't give up hope
