I am looking for good websites/books on adoption that you have used during your adoption process. I have started with www.bethany.org and they are sending my husband and I an info packet.

  1. In addition to the books that the others have mentioned, you may want to contact a local adoption agency and see if they have any literature that they can provide you free of charge.  Also, if your employer has an employee resource program (sometimes called an Employee Assistance Program), they might have additional literature available.  That is actually how we received a free copy of the Adoption Resource Guide.

We used Adoptions from the Heart here in PA & NJ.  You could look at their website if you'd like - www.adoptionsfromtheheart.org.  Perhaps they could put you in touch with the resources you need if they aren't available in your state.

    Good luck.

  2. Get the book called Adoption Resource Book by Lois Gilman.

  3. Check with your church, or Catholic or Lutheran Social Services.  they have a lot of information available.

  4. adoptioncrossroads.com

  5. Subscribe to Adoptive Families Magazine.

Also, go to their website. I believe they have a "guide to adoption" that you can download.

    Good luck!

  6. I second what Cam said. Lois Melina's book is wonderful. Adoptive Families has a good website, too. Best of luck!
