Young West Indian talent, Adrian Barath, feels that he still needs to polish his skills and has shown content over his performance in the recently concluded three-match Test series against India.
In three Test matches, Barath scored 150 runs at an average of 25.00, including one fifty. In the first inning of the first match he scored 64 runs and became the top scorer for his side.
“I had 64 in the first match and I wanted to capitalise on that start and get a hundred on my comeback but I got a really good ball (to be dismissed). I had two other starts (38 and 27) in the series that if I had capitalised on it would probably be a different
series personally and for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760,” he said.
The right-handed batsmen sustained an injury in February, which forced him out of the One-Day International series against the World Cup winning nation; however, Barath recovered and played in the fifth and final ODI, where he merely scored 17 runs off 46

“That would have been the best scenario (but) the medical team and selectors saw it fit in the best time to get me back,” said Barath.
Barath added that playing against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 has always been a big challenge for his side.
“Ishant Sharma (bowled like he) had a point to prove and we didn’t know much about http://www.senore.com/Cricket/P-Kumar-c2143 but we saw his ability in the Tests,” said Barath.
Talking about the series against India, he said his side’s batsmen prepared against spinners but unfortunately pacers proved more dangerous in claiming wickets.
The 21-year-old did not participate in the International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) World Cup 2011, as he unfortunately sustained injury before the event started.
Barath, playing in the seven Test matches on the whole, has scored 350 runs at an average of 26.92, including one century and two fifties.
