Adrian Behar urges Brazilian duo to win the 2011 Brasilia Open
The former Brazilian beach volleyball star, Adrian Behar has blogged some healthy comments about her compatriots playing at 2011 Brasilia Open.
The first event of the 2011 SWATCH FIVB World Tour is scheduled to run in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from April 17-23. The familiar conditions and emotional support of fans will surely provide a great competitive edge to the home dues. Considering the same facts,
Adriana has urged the home duo of Alison Cheruti and Emanuel Rego to go one place higher from their silver medal finish at the 2010 Brasilia Open.
The duo of Brazilian Alison Cheruti and Emanuel Rego was challenged by American top-seeded pairing of Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers in the previous edition of Brasilia Open. The American proved to be better in every aspect of the game in the final showdown
and pushed the Brazilian behind. Alison/Emanuel had to be content with the silverware.
Once again, both the teams will take part in the 2011 Brasilia Open and will get the chance to prove their endeavours. The former six-time World Champion and the Olympic silver-medallist, Adrian Behar is all up for the support her country mates. Recently,
she showed her support for Alison/Emanuel in her blog post and encouraged them to win the Brasilia Open.
She stated, “It’s going to be equally as close in the men’s event. Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser are always worth looking out for but I expect Alison and Emanuel to do well and get the home crowd cheering! They won the most recent tournament on the Brazil
Tour earlier in April and have had a year to play as a pair. Alison is still young but has a very strong spike and will have been managed well by the more experience Emanuel. They are also coached by my former coach, Letícia Pessoa, so I know they are in good
hands!”
This is indeed going to be a great opportunity for Brazilian players to take advantage of the home courts and to retake their lost pride in the game.
