Adrian Beltre and hitters shine as Texas Rangers sweep the floor with Kansas City Royals
If there is one thing that everyone will agree with this season, it is that the Kansas City Royals are proving to be a formidable team in the American League Central.
They were ranked second in their division behind the Cleveland Indians when they went up against the Texas Rangers, away from home.
Unfortunately, with the series over, they are on a four-game losing streak. For the recent loss they owe Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre.
The former Boston Red Sox third baseman was incredible in the recent game against the Royals. He sits on top of the table with the best hitter in the league. He currently leads the list of top RBI players with 20 runs to his name. His seventh homer in the
game brought the Texans a 2–1 lead in the fourth.
Nevertheless, he was critical of himself after the encounter.
"I'm not consistent how I want to be", Beltre said. "I mean, I feel good, it's not like I feel bad, but I'm not locked in yet".
Apart from Beltre, Mike Napoli and Andre Blanco smashed solo home runs in the game. Michael Young and David Murphy steered three runs home with RBIs.
"It came from almost everyone in the lineup", manager Ron Washington said. "That's what it's about. We had to give a couple of guys the day off, and the guys that stepped in stepped in and did their job. That's what a team is".
The Rangers look like they will be getting to the top of the American League West by the end of the season. They currently have the best record in the league with 14 victories and seven losses.
"The thing is we're trying to win games no matter how we do it", Beltre said. "Today we came out swinging, yesterday it was pitching".
Beltre noted that the team is not the same without 2011 American League Most Valuable Player, Josh Hamilton, but there is no other thing to do than hit well and work hard till the outfielder gets back to the club and assists its pursuit of the division title.
