Adrian Beltre collects praise from Josh Hamilton and rivals in American League Division Series
The American League Division Series may be over but Adrian Beltre is still the topic of discussion across the baseball forum. Texas Rangers were delighted to have the star in their squad when they faced the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 4 of the series.
The third baseman punished the club with three homers; two going against Jeremy Hellickson and one going against Matt Moore. His effort brought the club to a 4-3 win. Moving on to Wednesday, October 5 players have praised the man for his contribution.
Team-mate Josh Hamilton commented on Beltre from Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
"He puts up over 100 RBIs, 30-some home runs, close to .300 batting average [and] missed [five] weeks," Josh Hamilton said.
Beltre missed five weeks of regular season action due to a hamstring injury. He returned in September to earn the accolade of Player of the Month. It still seems like the third baseman is up to the mark. Going into Game 4, Beltre carried a batting average
of .091. Leaving the field, the player had an average of .267
Rays could not do much about Beltre’s brilliant knock. The top star punished Hellickson and Moore to secure the important win.
"Two of the balls he hit weren't even in the strike zone," Rays centre fielder B.J. Upton said. "There's nothing you can do about that."
Casey Kotchman of the Rays had a lot to say about the player. With Mike Napoli having his best career outing with the Texans, Beltre seems to be attracting a lot of fans, as well.
"The guy has serious power," Kotchman said. "Plus, he's in the right line up, surrounded by tough hitters. Mike Napoli is hitting sixth, behind Beltre."
With Beltre looking firm on the batting plate, there is no telling how deadly he will be against the opposition in the American League Championship Series. He wants the World Series ring and if no one pitches well, he will surely be hit when Beltre goes
up to the batting plate.
