Adrian Lewis auctioned his ‘Iron man’ shirt to help hometown people, “The Jackpot” entering the World Matchplay in the right mood!
Darts magician and the world number 2 Adrian Lewis has been enjoying his time off the darts stage and is selling his famous ‘badly ironed shirt’ at a charity auction in his hometown.
“The Jackpot” is auctioning his shirt for the Realise Foundation, which helps people all over the country and trains them for no cost. This venture has displayed a different side of Lewis and he was seen smiling and having fun around the foundation.
Lewis has been working hard for a comeback and has had a pretty tough year so far.
The McCoy’s Premier League saw “The Jackpot” defeating the world number one Phil “The Power” Taylor and shocking the world.
His win was still roaming around the news when Lewis faced defeat at the hands of Australian Wizard Simon Whitlock. This changed the course of the Premier League and Lewis was knocked out of the McCoy’s Premier League.
The British Open had the same result for Lewis. He was out of the Open in the initial rounds and left the fans disappointed.
This time, he is ready and appears stronger than ever. He is eagerly anticipating the Players Championship and the World Matchplay.
“I am practising four or five hours a day now and getting sharp, I don't want to just keep winning the world title... mind you, that wouldn't be bad. But I want to win other tournaments,” said Lewis.
At his charity event, he seemed relaxed and at ease. He was thrilled to be a part of the Realise Foundation and was glad to help them in whatever way he could.
“It's fantastic to help out a charity that is supporting young people in Staffordshire, I grew up not far away, so I know how hard it can be to get an opportunity. I think this is a brilliant idea to help young people into work,” said Lewis.
He also mentioned being ‘ready’ for the World Matchplay.
“I've got the World Matchplay coming up and I'm practising hard for that. My form is picking up and I'm looking forward to it,” said “The Jackpot”.
It has been long that we have witnessed Lewis hitting a ‘jackpot’. Let us hope this time he actually hits it.
