Adrian Lewis continues bad form, “The Jackpot” needs to think again!
The world saw Robert Thornton claiming the UK Open among legends of darts. As a rookie, it was unbelievable for Thornton to actually defeat the world number one Phil Taylor in the final.
Times have changed. Darts is now ruled by newcomers, having double the passion and double the commitment. It was a dawn of a new era after Taylor’s defeat.
One man has been out of the darts scene for almost 2 months now. Adrian “The Jackpot” Lewis has been out of his form and out of his shoes.
The McCoy’s Premier League saw Lewis beating “The Power” in one of the biggest upsets of the entire Premier League. After winning against Taylor, Lewis became the easiest bet to win the Premier League. However, this dream never saw reality.
Who would have thought that an Australian player named Simon Whitlock would knock the mighty Lewis out of the Premier League?
Whitlock threw Lewis out of the League by beating him off the tournament and made his way into the final to face “The Power”. He lost in the final, yet, beating Lewis was one thing he is still proud of.
Lewis remained miserable in the UK Open. His presence in the tournament was expected to be strong but he made an early exit.
The UK Open saw Thornton winning the UK Open crown by beating the king of darts, Phil Taylor.
Lewis has been out of his golden touch for a little too long now. His fans are extremely disappointed with the world number 2, as Lewis has been under performed the entire season.
The two-time World Champion is facing plenty of pressure as his form and future career is up at stake in the upcoming competitions.
The first tournament is the Players Championship, starting June 16 where he will face players like James Wade, Simon Whitlock and the UK Open winner, Robert Thornton.
If he performs well at the Players Championship, he would get a strong uplift for the World Matchplay later this July.
Lewis is an extremely talented player. His lack of focus has caused him the entire season and he needs to rejuvenate his skill. The Players Championship will elaborate on Lewis and his form as his future appears frail.
