Adrian Lewis fails to hit the jackpot yet again, Ronnie Baxter wins the Players Championship!
It is going all hay wire as one of the biggest surprises came at the Players Championship this Saturday.
The world number 2, Adrian Lewis lost the final at the hands of Ronnie Baxter. It was disappointing to see “The Jackpot” falling apart yet again.
It all started at the McCoy’s Premier League, where Lewis was dominating the early rounds with his precision. He became invincible when he defeated the 15-time world champion Phil Taylor under enormous pressure and made it clear that he means business.
However, he faced defeat at the hands of the Australian wizard, Simon Whitlock, who made sure that Lewis was out of the Premier League.
After the Premier League, “The Jackpot” was working on his moves for the UK Open and felt confident about his chances at the event.
Unfortunately, “The Jackpot” failed even more miserably at the UK Open. He got out in the early rounds and was dazed and confused during the entire tournament.
On the other hand, players like Robert Thornton and Ronnie Baxter have been promising. Thornton took home the UK Open by defeating the mighty Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, which remains the biggest upset till date.
Taylor has also been out of touch with his game and was pretty average at the UK Open. On the other hand, Taylor’s massive record stands tall in front of any defeat.
He is a different story all together and has done his part in the darts universe as the best darts player that has ever lived.
This is the time where Lewis needs to realize the situation pretty seriously. His rank is up at stake in the upcoming World Matchplay. It is about time he crafts his game to a level where he can rule the world again.
The recent tournaments have proved the dominance of new or less experienced darts throwers over experienced and legendary players. Times have changed and it is a compulsion that Lewis comes up with a strategy where he can sustain his rank as a darts thrower.
The World Matchplay begins July 21. It is a do-or-die situation for the troubled darts magician. All Lewis needs to do, is to hit the ‘Jackpot’.
