Adrian Lewis fails to hit ‘the jackpot’ yet again, the World Matchplay might be the last venue to finally hit one!
Adrian Lewis and his misery with his love have gone to a new level. The German Darts Championship saw “The Jackpot” facing defeat yet again, at the hands of darts youth icon James Hubbard.
It all started with the McCoy’s Premier League.
It was a regular match when Adrian Lewis was facing the Australian Simon Whitlock. Lewis was an easy bet to win and Whitlock had no chance of competing with the mighty “Jackpot”.
Who would have thought that “The Wizard” would not only defeat Lewis, but at the same time throw him out of the Premier League?
This nightmare became a reality when Whitlock defeated Lewis fair and square and made sure that “The Jackpot” makes an early exit. “The Wizard” went on to the final of the Premier League and lost against the legendary Phil “The Power” Taylor.
The UK Open was the venue where it was believed that Lewis will come back at darts with vengeance. This vision was blurred with the disappointing performance that Lewis gave at the mega start event and faced misery yet again.
The Players Championship was another bad tournament and Lewis kept on failing at his game.
After all that happened, the German Darts Championship was the time when Lewis could have hit back at his game. Sadly, he failed again.
It was the twitter page controversy that made “The Jackpot” furious. Lewis was hurt with the remarks that the fans had over his recent form and he mentioned feeling like the ‘Joey Barton’ of darts.
“I thought, ‘Am I that bad?’ I feel like the Joey Barton of darts. And why do people support the foreign players? It’s like me wanting Spain to win the Euros - what a joke. It’s true – me and (Phil) Taylor laugh about it along with all the other UK players.
I don’t understand it – they should support their own country,” said Lewis on his twitter page.
Well, Lewis requires a rehab where he can accept the fact that the criticism he is facing has a strong reason behind it, his poor form.
The World Matchplay hits July 21. If Lewis fails to hit his top game this time, he will have to face the wrath of his fans and the media.
