Adrian Morley to appear for 450th match against Giants - Rugby League News
Adrian Morley, the skipper of Warrington Wolves, will appear for the 450th time in Wolves’ line-up for the Super League qualifying play-off against Huddersfield Giants, on Friday, September 16, as he has been named in Wolves’
19-man squad.
Morley had a successful eye-surgery to fix his vision. Before the operation, he was suffering from double vision problem,s which had kept him off-field for quite some time. Despite his troubled vision, he appeared against the Wigan Warriors.
Morley’s eye surgery cost him missing out on the final fixture of the Super League of the regular season of 2011.With Morley’s return to the outfit, there has not been much of a change in the squad’s line-up for tonight. Lee Mitchell has been dropped from
the squad to create space for the come-back skipper.
Ben Westwood has not recovered from his knee ligament injury, which was sustained during a clash in August.
After tonight’s clash, Wolves will receive their League Leader’s Shield which is the first time for the Wolves since 1973.
Since Wolves have just knocked-out Wigan Warriors from the top spot within the league hierarchy, their coach, Tony Smith has cautioned them from taking Giants lightly tonight.
While speaking about Giants’ to the official website of his club, Smith stated, “"The Giants have been a very good team all year. We've had some tough tussles with them over the last couple of years, we'll seem to get the wood on them and then they'll get
the wood on us. It's been an exciting couple of years every time we've played them and I've got no doubt that it will be similar on Friday. They knocked us out last year but we'd like to think we're in a lot better position now and have learnt a lot since
then."
This match is very important for either team, because the winner of tonight’s clash will march into the semi-final whereas the runners up of the clash will battle against the winner of the elimination play-offs.
