The Cesena forward has stated that he will move away from the Seahorses following their relegation from Italy’s top flight, and has insisted that he wants to play for a top side.
Adrian Mutu has made it clear that he is looking for a new outfit following the relegation of Cesena, and has stressed that he seeks to be a part of a more competitive team.
The Seahorses will have to offload their best and the most highly paid players, after they were relegated to Serie B in the 2011-12 season in Italy’s top flight.
Mutu stated that while he has decided that he will take his exit from Stadio Manuzzi, he has neither shortlisted nor decided on his next destination.
However, the Cavallucci Marini player was adamant that he is looking to join a top club, which will give him the chance to play in a more competitive environment.
The former Juventus-man went on to stress that he will be willing to follow, if his search for a new club takes him away from Italy.
Mutu acknowledged Cesena’s desire to offload him following their relegation, but maintained that the selection of his destination will have to be done through mutual consultation.
The ex-Fiorentina striker stated that he will continue to train with the Seahorses until a deal with another club is finalized.
While talking to the TMW, the 33-year-old said:

to play in a competitive team.”

A recent transfer rumour suggested that the Seahorses were expected to sell the striker to Genoa, but the deal eventually collapsed leaving the club and the player seeking a more befitting destination.
