The former Chelsea star hails Francesco Totti, and confident of beating Luis Enrique’s side at the weekend...
Cesena striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adrian-Mutu-c3742, insists that he does not regret his failed move to AS Roma in 2008. The striker was talking in the wake of his team’s visit to Stadio Olimpico Rome on Saturday, January 21st, 2012.
Roma made a bid to sign Mutu during his Fiorentina days, but the striker blocked the move by insisting to stay at Stadio Artemio Franchi. Mutu insists that he does not regret his decision to join the Giallorossi, and believes that
he made the right choice to stay at Fiorentina at that moment.
The 33-year-old insisted that Roma are a great side, and he has always admired their skipper, Francesco Totti. He insisted that Totti convinced him to join the capital club, but he excused to him.
While talking to the reporters, Mutu insisted,
“I don’t regret it. I am satisfied with the decision I made in staying at Fiorentina. Saying that, Roma are a great side and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francesco-Totti-c13940, who called to convince me to join, is a great player who I have always admired.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 and Cesena are enjoying contrasting forms, as Luis Enrique’s men are placed 7th in the league table, while Cesena are struggling in the relegation zone. However, Mutu insists that his team has an equal chance of
winning the game.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 star admitted that his team has not performed up to their full potential in the away games, and is confident that they can turn the tables against Roma. He further added that the last week’s win over Novara will
give his team a lot of confidence.
“Roma will want to win at all costs to remain in the upper echelons of the table. They will be favourites on paper, but not on the pitch. We are missing a great result away from home this season and we can get that on Sunday in
Rome. Cesena deserve to be in Serie A.” added the striker
The former Juventus star is in rich vein of form this season, and has scored six goals from 15 matches played thus far.
