Adrian Newey and Sebastian Vettel insist on staying with Red Bull Racing – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing’s unbeatable pair, Adrian Newey and Sebastian Vettel, have admitted that they are going to stay with the Austrian team during the upcoming season.
“Red Bull is a great team to work for,” Newey said. “I've always maintained I do not want to spend my entire career in motor racing and certainly not F1 - but right now I am enjoying it. And as long as that is the case and people offer me work, then I'll
keep doing it. At this team we keep egos and politics to a minimum and try to keep an atmosphere where there's no finger-pointing. We encourage creativity. And our results and titles show how all that has paid off.”
Meanwhile, Vettel has stated that it is important for a driver to feel happy within the team he is driving for and also have a competitive car. He said he is fortunate to have both. He appreciated Newey, who is the chief technical officer of Red Bull, saying
that he is brilliant. He told that Newey makes him feel confident by providing him with ‘world-beating’ cars and it is an amazing experience to get to work with him. He added that they can still do better than this.
Newey came to Red Bull from McLaren and many told him that he has lost his mind but Red Bull’s all three constructors’ titles have come through the Newey designed cars and not only that the team has now become the fourth in F1 history to achieve three titles
in a row. Vettel’s consecutive three F1 championships are also greatly due to Newey as it is no secret that the car has been the quickest on the grid for the last three years.
There have been many speculations that Vettel might be moving to Ferrari next and Ferrari themselves have opened up saying that after Fernando Alonso, they will be considering Vettel. Recently, Ferrari president, Luca di Montezemolo, has admitted that he
will prefer Vettel for the team instead of Lewis Hamilton as he is younger and tends to keep his feet on the ground.
However, both of them are to remain in the team for right now and plan to continue their success streak into 2013.
