Adrian Sutil: Force India looking good for last five races of 2011 season – Formula 1 news
Force India driver Adrian Sutil has said that his team is looking good for the last five rounds of the 2011 Formula 1 season after getting better results from the Singapore race weekend recently.
Sutil talked to the media and added that the 2011 Singapore was the toughest as well as longest race of Formula 1 race calendar but despite everything, they enjoyed a lot during the Grand Prix at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Both of the drivers Sutil and Paul di Resta impressed the team by scoring decent points for them after running at the Singapore street circuit.
The 28-year-old driver took his start in the Singapore race from the ninth position on the opening grid. After fighting with the rivals, he came at the eighth position on the final race classifications.
Talking to the reporters, the German commented, “I think I could have jumped Nico Rosberg, as our pit stop was still very good. But when I wanted to leave the pits again I had to wait because a Sauber was coming in. I lost over three seconds, and that's
where I lost out to Nico.”
He went on to mention, “In the end it got very close, I was following him very closely, but I was just not able to pass him. At the same time I was also lucky that I finished in eighth because Felipe Massa was pushing hard in the last few laps.”
His teammate, di Resta showed his best possible performance on the grid of the ongoing season in Singapore recently. He managed a sixth position for Force India team at the Marina Bay Street Circuit after struggling with his VJM04 car.
After taking part in the 14 races of the season so far, the Force India team is placed at the sixth position with 48 points in the 2011 constructors’ championship.
The 15th round of the 2011 season will start from October 7 at the Suzuka circuit in Japan.
Let’s see how the Force India team manages its 2011 Japanese Grand Prix next weekend.
