Adrian Sutil hoping to stay at Force India for 2012 Formula 1 season – Formula 1 news
Force India driver Adrian Sutil has recently stated that he is hoping to stay with the team for the 2012 Formula 1 season as well.
Recent rumours have linked the German with a possible switch to Williams.
“That's how Formula One is. It's a very fast and furious business. I'm happy at Force India and it would be great to re-sign with them. I'm very motivated for the rest of the season and I will do my very best,” he said.
Force India have been doing a pretty good job in the 2011 Formula 1 season as they are currently in 7th place in the constructors’ standings ahead of Toro Rosso and Williams. Sauber on the other hand are in 6th place
but the points’ difference between the two teams is just 3 points.
Sutil himself on the other hand is currently in 12th place in the drivers’ standings with 24 points which is quite impressive keeping in mind that Force India are not a very well established team of Formula 1.
The team however has been doing a very good job as they even made it to the Q3 sessions of some of the qualifying rounds in 2011 which shows that their car is improving noticeably.
“In this sport there is always a lot of criticism and pressure and we all have to cope with it. If you do well, you are the hero. If you don't, you're the zero. It is important not to read everything that is written in the press about you. I am self-confident
and had absolutely no doubt that I would get through this difficult time,” Sutil told the media.
The team is hoping for a double points finish at the upcoming Italian Grand Prix and they are aiming for at least the 6th place in the constructors’ standings.
According to the result of the Belgian Grand Prix, Force India are performing really well as compared to Sauber as they secured 6 points while Sauber finished the race with no points giving the Britain-based team a much needed confidence boast.
